In 1986, Albert Jackson “Jack” McCarn opened Realty Insurance Agency.  As an independent insurance agent with a law degree, he had an understanding of both the legal and insurance aspects of probate bonds.  He could represent different insurance companies and compare coverage prices for the best value for the individual needs of each client.

Later, his daughter, Mickie Edwards, would join his team of insurance professionals.  The father/daughter team developed a reputation of integrity and knowledge in the industry, both being voted “Insurer of the Year” by the Alabama Independent Agents Association.  Jack and Mickie both served at different times as President of Birmingham Independent Insurance Agents Association and Mickie went on to serve on the State level as the President of the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents Association.

In 2010, the third generation joined what is now known as RIA Bonds when Mickie’s daughter, Jacquelyn Le, came aboard.  Jacquelyn took ownership in 2017 and is currently leading the team.
